If you’re keen to get out and see the Australian outback but you still admittedly like the comforts of a hotel, this luxury camping group is worth getting to know.
Flash Camp @ Kakadu has launched in the Top End for a second season, predicting a rise in ‘happy campers’ in the area.
Set in beautifully shady grounds of Cooinda Camping Ground from 23 June to September 21, 2017, ‘Flash Camp @ Kakadu’ offers bespoke bell tent accommodation in the heart of Kakadu National Park, ideal for those seeking an effortless camping experience while exploring the UNESCO World Heritage Listed wilderness.
The ultra-luxe expedition will include double- and twin-bell tents with spring-foam mattresses on pallet bases, quality bed linen, fresh towels, bamboo furniture, toiletries and Armadillo & Co rugs. Making the glamping experience truly luxurious, the tents will have power, lighting and a fan (though nights are usually mild throughout the “winter” season). Life’s necessities will also be taken care of with a recently renovated communal toilet and shower facilities available, while barbecues, a restaurant, bar and pools at the adjoining Cooinda Lodge offer an extra touch of glamour.
From the base in Cooinda, couples can explore the best Kakadu has to offer, including Warradjan Cultural Centre – a showcase for Kakadu’s Indigenous culture and heritage, and major tourist sites like Nourlangie, Anbangbang, Twin Falls, Jim Jim and Gunlom.
“Flash Camp is ideal for travellers who like the idea of camping but don’t want to have to have to bring all the camping equipment with them, let alone put up the tent and then take it down,” said Cooinda General Manager, Brett Skinner.
‘Flash Camp @ Kakadu’ rates start at $140 per night. For more information and bookings, visit the website here or call (08) 8979 1500.
