Channel your inner celeb with this indulgent new package from Orpheus Island Lodge.
Luxe 32-metre superyacht M.Y. Flying Fish (Northern Escape Collection’s own vessel) will take up residence at Orpheus this season, offering the chance to experience the tropical island paradise from the privacy of a luxury yacht. What a treat!
Expect a ‘floating hotel’ style experience for up to eight guests — perfect for a Great Barrier Reef escape with your couple besties or much-needed catch-up with family. Although we totally get it if you want to just keep this once-in-a-lifetime experience all to yourselves.
The days sound divine. First breakfast on board, then a personal transfer to Orpheus’ 1000 hectares of pristine national park. You’ll slide straight into island time with a daily signature experience (think local snorkel, cocktail class, sunset cruise, or seasonal whale watching) then explore at your own pace. Seek out secluded coves by motorised dinghy, kayak, paddleboard, or kick back by the infinity pool. Our tip? Book an Island Exotics Beach Massage or slip away to the island’s excellent Gwandalan Spa.
Then it’s back to your private yacht, now plusher than ever thanks to a recent a $2m refit and refurbishment. The classically designed exterior features three decks with plenty of space to chill or convene, mahogany finishes, multiple sun lounging spaces, a helipad, and a fly deck saloon lounge which takes in panoramic views of the Coral Sea and spectacular sunsets. There are also four well-appointed staterooms to choose from, all with ensuite bathrooms.
The package includes exclusive use of the M.Y. Flying Fish; daily continental breakfast; daily tapas-style lunch and degustation dinner on Orpheus; a quality selection of wines, beers, spirits, and soft drinks; unlimited use of all lodge facilities plus a daily curated experience; and a return cruise between the Townsville Breakwater Marina and Orpheus Island Lodge.
Prices start from $6,000 per night for four guests (outside Australian school holidays) with helicopter transfers from Townsville available for an additional cost.
You’ll need to book a minimum four nights, but our question is: will four be enough?
Where: Opheus Island, just north of Townsville, Great Barrier Reef
Couples will love: Sea breezes, ocean lullabies, and indulgent quality time together around this Great Barrier Reef gem.
