If Macao’s always been on your bucket-list, now’s the time to go. Known for its amazing culinary scene and unique culture, the exciting destination is gearing up for a year packed full of incredible festivals and events.
Commemorating Macao’s 20th anniversary as a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China, a fun-filled calendar of events promises something for everyone. From sacred cultural celebrations (such as March’s Passion of Our Lord Parade and April’s A-Ma Festival, celebrating the Goddess of Seafarers) to an action-packed martial arts contest in August and the sensational Macao Louts Flower Festival in June, there’s plenty to see.
Highlights for 2019 include the 30th Macao Arts Festival (May 4 – June 2), the beautiful Mid-Autumn Festival (September 13) and the Macao International Music Festival (October 4 – November 3). Romantics, don’t miss the impressive 30th Macao Fireworks Display Content between September 7 and October 5, where a record 12 countries will show off their most dazzling fireworks displays.
