Love a unique arrival? Try dog-sledding over a frozen sea to this new lodge in Swedish Lapland! During winter, an eight-kilometre ice road is the only way to reach the charming Jopikgården lodge on the Swedish island of Hindersön. Their December-March offering invites guests to bring their car or enjoy dog-sledding transfers to a secluded wilderness for a swag of Arctic adventures.

Hello, huskies! Dog-sledding over the frozen sea is an exhilarating way to arrive at the Jopikgården lodge.

“The journey out to the island really gives you a sense of getting away from the world, so that you can be close to nature and enjoy the peace and stunning winter scenery, that makes our island such a special place to experience,” says co-owner Shane Doolin.

The four-bedroom lodge brings together the cosy comforts of a traditional Swedish manor with personally guided local activities including snowshoeing & fire-making; dog sledding; outdoor dinners, trips to the pack ice, skiing, and ice fishing. Our pick? The chance to experience the Northern Lights in this romantically remote locale.

Launching a four-day Winter Archipelago Escape in December 2020, Jopikgården Luleå Archipelago is a 40-minute drive from the Luleå airport in Swedish Lapland.
