In City Escapes by The H4C Team

With thousands of globetrotting hours already clocked up in her never-ending search of all things luxurious and romantic, Rhonda Bannister took the opportunity to experience a truly opulent stay in her home city of Brisbane and found it truly world-class.

Brisbane City Short Breaks

Brisbane is no stranger to gorgeous five-star hotels, but if you’re looking for somewhere particularly special to show that certain someone how much you love them then I am happy to report that a stay at the opulent Treasury Heritage Hotel in Brisbane’s heritage area of William Street should not leave you disappointed. Forget modern minimalist interiors and instead indulge in rooms and suites which are stylishly swish with an old world charm and elegance –  the perfect setting for a weekend of love! Picture lots of gleaming timber, plush carpeting, luxurious marble bathrooms plus every modern convenience expected these days when staying in a top class establishment.  Whilst every calibre of room is of a high standard, if you’re really looking to impress your partner and set the scene for your romantic sojourn, consider a Hotel Suite (trust us you won’t regret it!). A suite here is the size of an average city apartment with a lounge and entertainment centre; a huge dining area (you could even have friends in for a formal dinner if you wanted to!), a split-level marble bathroom with deep soaking bath and shower, a dressing room and a large bedroom with a bed so comfortable you won’t want to leave. The ceilings are sweeping loft-style with a series of windows that let in gorgeous natural light- which at a flick of a switch, electronic blinds glide over to offer you complete and utter coverage from the world above. Bliss! Over and above the indulgent accommodation on offer, one of the best things about staying at Treasury Heritage Hotel is the proximity to all the fun and vibrancy at the city’s best entertainment venue, the Treasury Casino. Start your night with a cocktail or two at The Kitty – a sexy space of velvet settees, flickering candle-light, gossamer-fine drapes and soulful sounds from the resident DJ. It’s a truly swish bar setting and a great way to kick-start a romantic evening for two. Next head to Luke Nguyen’s Fat Noodle restaurant on the same floor for a meal that’s anything but ordinary! The fusion menu is a medley of Asian tastes with Luke’s signature Vietnamese Fat Pho noodles a standout. There’s also Thai, Chinese and a smattering of Japanese dishes to choose from. If you’ve never been before we promise  this won’t be your last (the meals are excellent and the prices reasonable). With the night still young the choice is yours to head back to The Kitty for more cocktails or go on elsewhere in town to discover more of Brisbane’s nightlife. We recommend however that you finish your evening with a nightcap back at the hotel at Ryan’s on the Park lounge. It’s a great place to kick back, sink into one of the over-large leather armchairs and relax into the traditional-style ambience overlooking Queens Park before retiring to the indulgent surrounds of your Hotel Suite. And with a late start to your Sunday morning (complements of a perfectly blacked-out room!) you simply need to head downstairs to the hotel’s lab bar + restaurant for a delicious full breakfast for two!  Returning home feeling refreshed, re-energised and reconnected – a mere few kilometres down the road – we were left wondering why more couples (us included) don’t holiday in their own city more often.  To organise your own romantic getaway at Treasury Heritage Hotel Brisbane be sure to check out their range of packages and benefits on offer.
