With travel restrictions easing in regional Victoria, we’re welcoming more good news in the state’s north: the 01 November opening of The Sebel Yarrawonga in the magnificent Murray River region.
Affectionately known as Sun Country thanks to an abundance of rays year-round, the area might be familiar to golf-lovers for its 18-hole Black Bull champion course. Sculpted around the Murray-fed Lake Mulwala, it was the final course designed and completed by the late Peter Thomson, and the centrepiece of Silverwoods Golf and Lifestyle Resort.
Right next door, the multi-million-dollar Sebel Yarrawonga will offer green access as well as 63 stylish studios, rooms, and apartments in stage 1 with a further expansion expected in 2022/23. An infinity-edge swimming pool positioned right on the lake’s shore plus a tranquil day spa will create a haven for golfers and sybarites alike.
Need to refuel after a day golfing, fishing, or exploring the iconic waterways? Head to the warmly welcoming Stock & Barrel bistro — inspired by the stockmen who crossed the Murray over the Yarrawonga stock bridge — or the perfectly positioned Sunset Pool Bar. A fine dining option, Elizabeth’s restaurant, is set to follow in December.
“We can’t wait to welcome our first customers and guests through to experience The Sebel Yarrawonga,” says General Manager, Rebecca Russell. “It has been a challenging year but we are finally ready to see the hotel buzzing with locals and regional travellers and eventually, guests from Melbourne and interstate.”
Couples will love: working on their drive within putting distance of the majestic Murray River.
