Fairmont Just Opened Its First Thailand Hotel — and Bangkok’s Sukhumvit Got a Lot More Interesting

Fairmont has just opened its first hotel in Thailand, and it has chosen Bangkok’s Sukhumvit neighbourhood to do it. Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit opened on 18 August 2026, with 416 guestrooms and 58 suites across a property designed by Thai practice PIA around a botanical concept rooted in Thailand’s national flower, the golden ratchaphruek blossom. The lobby chandelier alone — 4,166 glass pieces, over 35,000 crystal balls — signals that this is an opening Bangkok has been waiting for.

For couples, the property is well configured. Seven dining venues are rolling out across 2026, anchored by Harper’s brasserie, the AELA Social Bar, which transitions from lounge to cocktail destination after sunset, and CAYA Pool Club, drawing on Bangkok’s night market energy with contemporary Thai street food. The opening that will attract the most attention arrives in mid-September: Wiggle Room, a supper club with its own private entrance on Sukhumvit Soi 18, combining live music, cabaret-style performances and an intimate stage setting. In December, a rooftop on level 33 adds two further restaurants, one blending Italian and Japanese influences, the other focused on contemporary Thai cuisine, both with sweeping Bangkok skyline views.

Wellness runs through the property via Fairmont’s Wellness Without Walls approach. Fairmont Spa draws on jasmine, a symbol of Thai hospitality, for its treatment philosophy; Fairmont Studio covers yoga, cardio and strength training; and wellness touchpoints extend through the rooms and across the hotel rather than being confined to a single floor.

For couples who want the full treatment, Fairmont Gold offers a hotel-within-a-hotel experience: dedicated check-in, an exclusive lounge with food and beverage service through the day, and a personal concierge team. Reservations are open now at fairmont.com.
