“Hotels hold a special place in our hearts. Some feel like a second home, while others transport us to a new world.” Alexandra Seitz & Kissa Castañeda

We couldn’t agree more. For an industry hit hard by Covid-19, this new charity-driven ‘digital coffee-table book’ is a welcome respite and a celebration of everything we love about hotels.

Checking In: Bringing The Hotel Home features 35 spectacular hotels from around the world (plus how to bring a taste of each one home) and exclusive interviews with some of the industry’s finest — from hoteliers and designers to chefs. Price is via donation with all proceeds going to four key charities, including The African Tourism Crisis Fund.

The stellar line-up is a who’s who of gorgeous hotels including: Amanpuri Phuket; Como Maalifushi Maldives, Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc; Hoshinoyo Kyoto; The Retreat Hotel Iceland; Le Bristol Paris; and Australia’s own Capella Lodge on Lord Howe Island.

The new release has been a passion project for ardent travellers Alexandra Seitz and Kissa Castañeda (marketing & brand consultant Alexandra has worked for LUXE City Guides and The Luxe Nomad while Kissa is currently Editor-in-Chief of Tatler Singapore).

“We wished to create a book that would brighten up our daily lives, fuel dreams of our next sojourn, and all the while raising money for those directly affected by the pandemic,” say the authors.
