One of Brisbane’s heritage treasures is coming back. The sandstone-clad Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane, formerly a landmark bank, now brings together art deco glamour with thoroughly modern five-star rooms and stellar views. Welcoming guests from late November, we can’t wait to check in!

First constructed in 1913 and completed in 1922 (building was slow due to wartime shortages), the perfectly positioned CBD sweetheart was always exceptional. Its ground floor ‘banking chamber’ — now the foyer and home to deeply luxe Donna Chang restaurant — is a grand entrance of breathtaking proportions. Think soaring pressed plaster ceilings, rich timbers and marble, majestic columns, and ornate detailing.
Home to Queensland’s first official radio station and several government departments before TFE Hotels embarked on a four-year conservation project to reimagine the building as a modern hotel, Adina Brisbane is steeped in history. Stay and soak up the atmosphere with fully equipped one- two- and three-bedroom apartments, a heated indoor swimming pool and basement bar. Look out for heritage features including the main foyer staircase and original concrete bank vault doors.

But back to those fireworks! The Adina Brisbane is just a hop and skip from the Queen St Mall and Queen’s Wharf and just across the river from the fun of Southbank. Selected apartments boast balconies and sweeping river views, making them an ideal base for all your Brisbane adventures, including Riverfire and the NYE fireworks. Lock it in (Donna Chang too, so plush).
