Manta Point

Originally from London where he worked in the property sector, James Valentine is now Asia-based, but still travels six to eight months of the year. A passionate scuba diver, he first visited Bali in 1997 and has been returning ever since.

“My most Instagrammed pics are of the manta rays at Manta Point, off the coast of Nusa Penida, which is just a 30-minute ride by speedboat from mainland Bali. I’ve been diving extensively throughout southeast Asia for more than 15 years, and this is a legendary dive site where you’re almost guaranteed to see majestic manta rays. And if that’s not enough, the enigmatic mola mola (ocean sunfish) – a deepwater giant rarely seen elsewhere – can also be found in the area.”
