At Westpoint Park on September 26 from midday until 7pm, Port Macquarie is set to host a stellar family event: the Port Macquarie Beer and Cider Festival.

The first of its kind, the festival will aim to celebrate all of the good things in life: beer, cider, food, games and music, and all set against the spectacular backdrop of the Hastings River.

With over fifty different beers and ciders represented from local to Australia-wide brewers, the event presents a unique opportunity for locals to engage in the rapidly growing craft beer scene.

Gearing up for the Keg Toss

Perhaps the highlight of the event will be the Mid North Coast Beer Keg Toss, inspired by the long tradition of the Highland Games. This relies on a combination of technique, timing and sheer power to succeed. The best male and female participants will win $600 in cash and prizes.

For extra convenience of festival-goers, a special bus timetable will ensure uninhibited enjoyment of the event.

Hat Fitz and Cara Robinson are amongst the musical talent playing at the festival
