1. The beaches

Queensland is home to some of Australia's – and indeed the world's – most glorious beaches.

Don't believe us? Just check out 75 Mile Beach! Found on Fraser Island, its long stretches of white sand and crystal clear waters make it the perfect romantic location for honeymooners.

Then there's the world-famous Whitehaven Beach, located amongst the Whitsunday Islands. Immersed in luxurious surroundings, it's absolutely pristine. Think gorgeous warm waters and plenty of places to lounge around and soak in the sun. With beautiful emerald forests on offer in addition to this, it's a veritable paradise for loved-up couples on their honeymoon.

2. The accommodation

With nature at its most luxurious in Queensland, the hotels and resorts naturally had to follow suit! And they did, with luxury accommodation available all around Queensland, with some truly jaw-droppingly extravagant options.

From gorgeous resorts in The Whitsundays, where you'll have easy access to the incredible Great Barrier Reef, to islands in the Noosa Sound in the shape of a love heart (Richard Branson's Makepeace Island!), from Gold Coast high-rises that put you close to theme parks and incredible beaches to cosy cabins (complete with log fires) in hinterland areas such as Springbrook or The Blackall Range, you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to finding your perfect honeymoon hideaway in Queensland.

Queensland serves up some truly decadent dishes. After all, you want to indulge and eat well on your honeymoon. With gorgeous coastline right on its doorstep, Queensland has some of Australia's best seafood.

From Noosa's Hastings Street to the Brisbane Produce Market brimming with fresh produce, there's always a taste sensation around the corner.

For a luxury experience, try Brisbane's Pony – situated on the iconic Eagle Street Pier, this incredible eatery is superb homage to modern Australian cuisine, helmed by talented head chef Damian Heads.

5. The activities and attractions

If you'd prefer a more active and explorative honeymoon, Queensland won't disappoint. Try snorkelling in the waters of the Great Barrier Reef, discovering an underwater world of fish, manta rays, bright and cold corals and maybe even sharks.

Or head inland and explore wonderful rainforests with tumbling waterfalls and enchanting wildlife. Take the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway where you can experience World Heritage-listed rainforest from above and visit the culturally rich town of Kuranda.

With all of this and more on offer, Queensland is truly a destination for a couples' getaway or honeymoon.
