You don’t have to be a fashion connoisseur to fall in love with this stylish new villa at Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas. Inspired by Jim Thompson, the American businessman who helped revitalise Thailand’s silk industry in the ’50s and ’60s, the resort’s new villa features the icon’s fabrics throughout its design. And with a luxurious private pool and exotic gardens, this is one seriously glamorous hideaway.

Set in 389 square-metres of tropical gardens, the two-bedroom villa pays tribute to Thompson in its furnishings and wallpaper. One stand-out room, the master bedroom has been decorated with the icon’s famous Heliconia Dreamin’ fabric, which was inspired by the flower that still blooms at his former home. The living room also features sumptuous fabrics in shades of blue and white, creating a nautical feel that complements the resort’s beachside location.
