The river cruiser Mekong Pandaw has just completed a major refit of their ship combining luxury modern accommodation with its colonial character.
Couples are guaranteed a luxurious stay with butler service, redesigned staterooms with beautiful French windows, new bathrooms and air-conditioning. A shop, spa, library, a gymnasium, and office has replaced the lower deck, reducing the ship’s capacity to 48, creating an intimate ambience. Guests will also be offered an iPad with its own Pandaw app that contains maps, itineraries, daily programmes, movies and e-postcards. Wi-fi is available throughout the ship. The redecorated sundeck provides the perfect romantic scene of sunset cocktails while cruising through Southeast Asia. Hand finished in brass and teak in Yangon (Rangoon) by traditional Burmese craftsmen 10 years ago, the 60m long Mekong Pandaw is a replica of the river steamers that plied Burma’s Irrawaddy River in the 1930s and 40s.
The Mekong Pandaw is a fabulous travel option for couples who want to experience the rich history of this river cruiser with the added bonus of modern, romantic accommodation. It has cruises between Saigon and Siem Reap for three, four, seven, or 10 nights.
