A summer romance is all well and good, but we love a cosy winter tryst. And right on cue, the perfect snowy backdrop is popping up all over Australia from May! The European-style Winter Village will feature an ice-skating rink, snow showers, pop-up bars and food trucks, and a twinkling igloo village with über-cute private domes perfect for couples.

Bookings are now live for the catered igloo packages (from $49pp) which include a grazing plate, chocolate ice-cream sandwich, and choice of bevvies. We’re eying off the Premium option which also throws in a hot espresso martini with choc fudge sauce, berries, brownies, marshmallows, and cookies.

The snowflakes will start to fall at Federation Square in Melbourne (May 13-August 29) and Adelaide’s Torrens Parade Ground (May 14-September 05) while Perth’ Ice Cream Factory will feel the magic from May 28-September 05. Even balmy Brisbane will need a beanie from June 03-August 29 when the village lands at Hamilton’s Northshore.

Entry is free (extra cost for skating and igloos), the village is open every day, and yes, there will be boozy hot chocolate with marshmallows. Hurrah!

Where: Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Parramatta (dates TBA)

Couples will love: Gliding (or stumbling, still fun) around the ice rink before cosying up in their own private igloo.
