This protected reef sits inside an ancient volcanic cone and is just a 30-minute drive from Waikiki; it provides some of the most amazing waters for amateur snorkelling in Hawaii. You won’t be long in the water before all sorts of marine life surround you and you can hear the beautiful rainbow fish chomping at the coral. If you are really lucky you may see some of the local green sea turtles. Most of the shuttle services will hire out snorkelling gear included in the fare and also pick you up and drop you off right from the doorstep at Hotel Renew. Make sure you head out to Hanuama Bay early, as the marine park is a very popular destination.
Hiking
Diamond Head is just on the doorstep of Hotel Renew. Either jump on the shuttle bus or if you are in the mood for a longer walk it is an easy 45-minute stroll through the suburbs to the entrance of the park. Diamond Head provides a view stretching out over the vast ocean horizon and it’s also a perfect opportunity to see Waikiki from above. The walk is best early in the morning or late afternoon when it isn’t too hot.
Sunset sailing
After a hike up Diamond Head one of the best afternoon activities is an afternoon sunset sail. Freshen up back at Hotel Renew as the sailing catamarans are less than a 10-minute walk away. The sunset cruise takes about 90 minutes and usually includes a drink upon boarding the boat. The crew will take care of everything, all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the sights.

If you have enough time, hire a car and venture out to the North Shore for a day trip. Hotel Renew has valet parking so for couples looking to hire a car for more than a day coming back and parking at the hotel is an easy option.
