At a glance

Immerse yourselves in Australia's unique landscapes and wildlife when you stay at Calabash Bay Lodge. The boutique lodge is immersed in two national parks with their pristine eucalypt bushland and ancient sandstone cliffs. Be tempted by their atmosphere of eco-luxury and their views of the Hawkesbury River.

Just a 45 minute drive north of the Sydney CBD or one hour from Sydney Airport, Calabash Bay Lodge is in a convenient location, yet feels utterly secluded.

Couples on a romantic getaway will love

Whether you're an adrenalin junkie, a history buff or someone just looking for relaxation, Calabash Bay Lodge has plenty to offer. The Hawkesbury River provides plenty of opportunities for boating, fishing, cruising, kayaking and swimming. The area is also rich with Aboriginal and early settler history.

If all you want to do is relax, sunbake by the river, curl up with a book borrowed from the lodge's impressive library or watch a movie in their Apple media centre collection.

New South Wales accommodation

Calabash Bay Lodge is available exclusively for the rental of the whole lodge, with only one group staying at a time. The lodge features two king rooms, balconies with water views, two private ensuites and one main bathroom, luxury amenities and a private boat jetty.

Dining & leisure

If you feel like a change from your own in-house chef's cooking, there are a few culinary delights nearby for you to discover.

For a truly romantic dining experience, visit Peat's Bite. The secluded riverside restaurant is accessible only by boat or seaplane and has breathtaking views across to Bar Island and the Hawkesbury River conjunction with Berowra Creek. The cuisine is like no other, serving up modern Australian fare in a tapas-style degustation. Watch the live entertainment and enjoy a drink at the bar.

The Berowra Waters Inn is also worth a visit as it boasts a unique degustation menu. Just a short boat trip downriver, enjoy an indulgent meal with a matched bottle of wine. As it is only offered on the weekend, make it an unforgettable Saturday night and book one of their complimentary boat transfers.

If being by the water makes it impossible for you to get fish and chips out of your mind then there's a lovely little place for you. The Berowra Waters Marina has a café open for casual daytime dining where you can sit by the water and enjoy a much loved classic.

Spa & wellbeing

Calabash Bay Lodge is a haven for those wanting to indulge in a little luxury. There are a number of spa and massage therapies services on request for you to take advantage of.
