5. See brown bears in Alaska
If you’ve ever seen footage of brown bears fishing for salmon, you can be pretty sure it was filmed at Brooks River Falls, in the Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska. Home to several thousand Alaskan brown bears, this park offers viewing opportunities that are probably the best – and the wildest – in the world. Seeing the bears from a floatplane is an experience never to be forgotten. You’ll fly past snow-covered volcanic mountains, glaciers and blue-green lakes filled with giant icebergs, and land on the pristine Alaskan wilderness to observe one of nature’s most magnificent creatures up close (but not too close!).
