Fiji just got even more glamorous, following the opening of three new luxury properties in 2017. Six Senses Fiji, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay and Kokomo Private Island Fiji are the newest additions to an already star-studded luxury line up, making the island destination a new hotspot for high-end travel.
Tourism Fiji CEO, Matthew Stoeckel said “Growth in the luxury space is a big focus this year, proving Fiji is not just about a family destination, but has a high-end luxury offering for couples.”
Whether you're planning on escaping to Fiji or you're just daydreaming of a luxury resort stay, here's a quick look at the three exciting properties.
Six Senses Fiji
The super luxurious Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spa's is slated to open Six Senses Fiji later this year in the secluded bay on Fiji’s Malolo Island. Boasting 26 spacious pool bures with private plunge pools and 15 luxury residences (3-, 4-, 5- and 6-bedroom configuration), the resort will sit on a private golden-sand beach. Bookings will be available four months out from opening, with rates due to be available in the next six to eight weeks.
Marriott Resort Momi Bay
Fiji’s newest international 5-star hotel, the Marriott Resort Momi Bay is the only man-made lagoon resort in Fiji. Set on Momi Bay on the western coast of Viti Levu, Marriott Momi Bay is a 45-minute drive from Nadi International airport. The resort features 136 contemporary Deluxe rooms and 114 luxurious Bure Villas, including 22 unique over-water Bure Villas with direct lagoon access. Intriguing dining options and three large swimming pools, including an adults-only pool and swim-up bar.
Kokomo Private Island Fiji
The über-glamorous Kokomo Private Island Fiji is laid-back luxury at its best. Opened in April 2017, Kokomo is located on the Great Astrolabe Reef located in one of Fiji’s least developed areas. The 140-acre island features five hilltop residences ranging in size from three to six bedrooms, a beachfront residence with six bedrooms, and 21 beachfront villas, with one to three bedrooms. The dining options here are endless – from in-villa dining, location dining and the choice of three restaurants. There is also a spa featuring therapies that draw from Fiji’s natural elements. Want the island to yourself? It'll set you back a cool $100,000 per night.
