Enjoy a beautiful romantic experience at the Cook Islands

If you are in search of the perfect Pacific island paradise for a couples' trip away, don't look past the Cook Islands.

This collection of stunning islets is ideal for honeymoons or simply for a romantic getaway. After all, who needs an occasion to celebrate with their loved one in one of the most beautiful parts of the world?

Swim, snorkel, dive, lounge by a beautiful pool or spend time exploring the lush forest. While away your afternoons lying on the beach with a good book, and savour evenings sipping on cocktails at your hotel bar. All, of course, with the one you love. It's utopia just for couples.

There are also plenty of opportunities to discover the local culture, by exploring local markets, watching a dance performance and travelling to authentic local villages.

You might be wondering where you can stay while you visit this tropical paradise. Well, there are certainly plenty of options when it comes to luxury resorts and accommodation.

Pacific Resort Rarotonga is located on the stunning Muri beach, so you'll wake up to gorgeous sea views every morning. Enjoy the Sandals Restaurant and Barefoot Bar located right on the beachfront, or stay tucked away in your private villa with room service. Whether you want to spend every moment by yourselves (secluded in romance – what could be better?) or get amongst everything the beach has to offer, Pacific Resort Rarotonga is a great place to return to at night!

Make sure your stay includes a Friday night, also known as 'Island Night', when you can witness a traditional island show of song and dance. You can also try your hand at a ukulele lesson or give coconut husking a go! You'll never run out of fun activities to take part in during your honeymoon or holiday for two, and you'll make plenty of romantic memories to cherish for the rest of your life.

Then there's the Rarotongan Beach Resort and Spa. Expect to be greeted by the sight of fragrant hibiscus, banana and coconut palm trees, not to mention resort buildings decorated in an authentic Pacific style. Set right on the Aroa beachfront, you don't even have to leave the resort to enjoy this island's golden sand and temperate waters.

Enjoy a romantic dinner for two at the Blue Lagoon Fine Dining restaurant, then retire for the night at your beachfront suite. These are designed to resemble the islands' native huts with more than a dash of luxury added to the mix. Make the most of your time with a candlelit dinner in your hut or on the beach with the stars as your ceiling.

For a romantic getaway to an even more exotic destination, try the Royale Takitumu Villas. This luxury accommodation is located on the beautiful Titikaveka Lagoon, and boasts ten private thatched-roof villas for its guests. Each villa is decorated Polynesian-style and provides stunning beach and lagoon views.

Enjoy swimming, snorkelling, lying in a hammock swaying in the gentle breeze, or wining and dining on fresh local produce. It's a romantic location for couples who truly want to do it all!

Then there's the Rumours Luxury Villas and Spa. This luxury resort is nestled away on an extremely private part of Rarotonga, so is perfect for couples truly looking to get away from it all. Wake up to the sight of sand and surf and spend your days enjoying the pools or the Waterfall Spa facility, with its romantically indulgent treatments such as couples' massage and aromatherapy.

Couples that truly want a holiday of a lifetime can stay in the Ultimate Villa of Romance, which includes a private pool, indoor waterfall and even a movie theatre. Yep, every moment spent here can be spent with the one you love in ultimate seclusion.

Finally, don't forget about the Sea Change Villas. Accommodation is on the beachfront or with views of the Titikaveka lagoon, and you're just a stone's throw away from the beautiful beaches of Muri and Aroa. Indulge in your own pool, an in-villa massage or a picnic complete with bubbles at sunset. Feel rejuvenated, feel loved – feel like absolute perfection.
