Times are a changing in Ho Chi Minh City. Last year, the city welcomed the most luxurious hotel ever built in any Vietnamese city, while a metro system is due to open in 2017, in a bid to ease congestion from the ubiquitous motorbikes locals rely on to get around. There is a pulsating energy about the city, no doubt fuelled by the young population and rising middle-class. Hip cafes, rooftop bars, and designer stores all sit comfortably alongside street stalls, Vietnamese coffeehouses and markets that are part of any quintessential Vietnamese holiday.

Holidays for Couples recently visited and enjoyed the best of new and old Saigon, as many of the locals and expats still call it. Here, we share our Top List of what to do and see on your honeymoon or holiday to Vietnam, which simply has to include the dizzying sights, sounds and tastes of dynamic Ho Chi Minh City.
