It’s the ultimate selfie. Giga Selfie (billed as the world’s biggest selfie service) starts out as a close-up of your face – and then zooms out to reveal a truly massive shot of your surroundings.

Using mobile phone technology and a super high-definition camera (100 times more powerful than usual photo gear), an enormous photo is emailed to you as a short video clip. But start queuing now: only 10 giant shots can be taken per hour.

At the moment the Giga Selfie, launched by Tourism Australia, is only available on the Gold Coast, but the promotional video shows a number of different spots around Australia, so watch this space.
