Chiang Mai’s first truly hip downtown hotel, the five-star, all-suite akyra Manor Chiang Mai, is set to open on August 1.

Accommodation is in spacious Deluxe and Manor suites (23 and seven suites, respectively), which blend striking, contemporary design with the latest smart technology. Each suite is created around a courtyard-within-a-room concept, with a covered outdoor hot tub as the focal point.

Akyra Manor is situated on Soi 9 Nimmanhaemin, Chiang Mai’s most buzz-worthy boulevard (known locally as “Coffee Street). Home to cool art galleries, boutiques, bars and – of course – coffee shops, it’s the ideal location for a hotel that also plans to be an active patron of the arts, presenting an exciting programme of works from cutting-edge artists.

The first such exhibition launches on 22 August, and will showcase works by Dr Andy Gotts, MBE, renowned for his studio portraits of celebrities including George Clooney, Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett.
