The Phi Ta Khon Festival – also known as the Festival of Ghosts – takes place from 26-28 June 2015 in Dan Sai, in the mountains of the Loei province of northeastern Thailand.

The main event takes place on the first day, which consists of paying respects to the river spirit by participating in community games and a grand procession of men and boys in colorful masks and costumes. The second day is the “Rocket Festival” when rockets are fired to the skies asking for rain to come, while monks make Buddhist sermons on day three.
