Marari Beach Resort
At a glance
An eco-friendly beach resort featuring 63 thatched roof bungalows, built in the Malayalam style and spread like a village around 22 hectares of land.
Smack dab on the beach, a ten minute drive from the city of Alleppey from where most houseboats come and go on the backwater cruises. It’s a two-hour drive to Cochin International airport.
Couples will love
Actually everything! It’s the sort of place where you can kick back by the 25 metre pool, order a beer from the pool bar and just relax.
After lunch head toward the beach for a snooze in one of the many hammocks strung between the coconut trees. In the evening it’s off to the Beach Shack for a cocktail while enjoying a sunset that will knock your socks off. The place is designed for romantic, stress-free interludes.
You'll find air-conditioned bungalows with large beds and a sofa, but no television. Clean and painted in fresh white, the bungalows are invitingly spacious. The bathroom is divine – part open-air over a rock garden but covered in all the important parts.
Best room for two for romance
If you want extra privacy, book a bungalow with a private plunge pool. There’s only a few so book early so you won’t miss out.
Dining and leisure
Dining is a pleasure with three outlets serving up a variety of dishes. Chakara is a multi-cuisine restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner; the Beach Grill for a fresh seafood dinner of the day’s catch and the Farm Kitchen for a home-grown organic dinner.
Leisure activities include tennis, badminton and beach volleyball and you can grab a bike and visit the local village.
Spa & wellness
At the Ayurvedic Centre you can indulge in a variety of massages and body treatments plus facials, mani’s and pedi’s. The Yoga Centre offers yoga, meditation and relaxation classes.
