Italy

Weather

From the snow capped mountains of the Alps, the continental climate of Northern Italy and the Mediterranean climate of the coastlines, Italy's weather is as varied and dramatic as its diverse landscape.

Currency

The official currency - much like the rest of Western Europe - is the Euro, replacing the old Lira.

Religion

The main religion in Italy is Roman Catholicism. The Vatican City, the seat of the Catholic Church, is in Rome and is one of the country's tour highlights.

Couples will love

History, art, music, food worth feasting on, fine wine, warm and friendly people, picturesque scenery and magical countryside, Roman ruins and a rich culture. What's not to fall in love with about Italy? It's the home of amore!

Best time to go

April to mid-June and late September to October are the best months for traveling in Italy, with milder temperatures (and less crowds!). August can get uncomfortably hot and crowded.
